Optimize Your Web Site For Natural Search

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the process of making your web pages show up well in "natural" search engine results, when users search on words that relate to your business or website. The end result of a good search engine optimization strategy is to deliver free traffic to your website -- you don't pay anything for a visitor who finds your site through natural search (also known as organic search).

However, achieving good SEO positions and traffic is not easy, especially in competitive industries. You must do many things right to make your website rank well, and avoid making mistakes that may cause your website to be ignored or worse - penalized.

LeadQual has helped many Companies improve their website's organic search positions and free traffic. Our team has many years of experience with SEO, working with customers across multiple industries. We understand what it takes to get good rankings.

We take a customized approach to SEO, tuning our process to your business goals, strategy, technology and resources. We do not take a "cookie cutter" approach and try to force you into our model, or just apply a few formulas for a quick win. We take a long term, strategic approach to SEO that generates long-term results.

LeadQual Search Engine Optimization Process

Our process is tuned to meet the needs of each specific customer. In general, our process involves the some or all of the following steps:
  1. Understand your business and objectives, as well as your current technical implementation and resources available to make changes. We want to understand your business, product and technology plans so that any SEO work can be synergistic with upcoming changes.
  2. Conduct a keyword and competition analysis, so that we understand what keywords will draw the most valuable traffic volumes, and how competitive those terms will be. Targeting the right keywords is critical if you are to achieve good rankings, and attract visitors that are synergistic with your goals.
  3. Review current search positions for your target keywords, as well as measure the number of pages indexed. We also assess your inbound linking, looking at the number of inbound links, where they are directed, and the type and quality of websites that link into yours. If possible, we review web analytics data to see how much traffic your current site gets from SEO, and on what keywords. This gives us a picture of how your current site meets overall objectives.
  4. Review your current website architecture, technology and implementation to identify impediments and opportunities for SEO. We evaluate your navigation structure, linking hierarchy, URL structure, use of redirects/rewrites, number of pages vs link authority, navigation structure, robots.txt, XML site maps, sub-domains, multiple domains, multiple languages and many other aspects of the site that can impact search engine optimization.
  5. Review the design, layout and coding of site pages to identify issues and opportunities for SEO. This includes analysis of how HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Vido, Podcasts, Flash and other technologies are used, and how the content in pages is laid out.
  6. Review the current content on your site. We look at what content is currently implemented and how well it fits the keyword strategy, and how it is implemented vs the current site architecture and design.
  7. Prepare a detailed report on your site architecture, design, content and linking, with analysis of current issues, possible opportunities, and recommendations for change. This may include recommendations for new content and techniques, such as use of user generated content (UGC), blogs, video, syndication, social bookmarking, etc. An executive level overview is provided, as well as detailed recommendations, which are itemized and prioritized to make it easier for you to assess the changes and determine what can/should be implemented.
  8. Review the report with you and your team. In larger projects, there may be interim reviews, and in some cases multiple reports are created that target specific areas (e.g., multiple sites, business lines, etc).
  9. Assist you as needed with assessing our analysis and recommendations, and with design and implementation of changes.
  10. Provide ongoing support, which includes monthly reporting on your search positions, plus Q&A about implementing our recommendations. As you implement new projects, we can work with you to be sure they are optimized for organic search. We can also assist with other aspects of organic search, such as link building and making link promotion part of your business practices (e.g., marketing, product, public relations, site design). We also track SEO trends, and will work with you to adapt and capitalize on new trends and opportunities.
We can tune the above process to meet your specific needs and budget, and can address other areas as needed.
